Side Dish: Instant Mashed Potatoes

Ok, I know you’re thinking to yourself…wha?? Instant mashed potatoes? Yes, I know – but seriously – some days you just need a side and these potatoes are good. They are not just peeled, boiled, mashed by hand, yummy butter and cream mashed potatoes. But they are good, really quite satisfying.

A bag of Idahoan Mashed Potatoes is around $1.25, but you can catch them on sale for 10/$10 or 5/$5. Go ahead and stock up, the potatoes don’t expire ever…or by ever I mean five years or something. They have beau coup flavors to, try them all! Most importantly, you mix these with water. No milk, no butter needed. Water. So easy.

Ok, most likely you will not win any culinary awards with these instant mashed potatoes. But you most likely WILL save some of your own sanity and get full in the process. 2 cups of water in the microwave for 3 minutes, stir in the potatoes and “fluff” with a fork.

Voila, dinner is served!

You probably wouldn’t know these were instant, except I posted a picture of the bag. 🙂

Enjoy!
