In my Pantry

One of the keys to making dinner approachable and easy is maintaining a well-stocked pantry. I’m not talking about having it fully stocked all.the.time. with the strangest ingredients. But nevertheless, there are some staples which I keep that make my life easier.

Pantry:

  • Bread Crumbs (seasoned or not, panko or plain)
  • White Vinegar
  • Red Wine Vinegar
  • Balsamic Vinegar
  • Olive Oil
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Canola Oil
  • Clove of Garlic
  • Chicken Broth (at least two cans or one box)
  • Cream of Chicken Soup (two cans)
  • Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • Cheddar Cheese Soup (two cans)
  • Petite/Regular Diced Tomatoes (2 cans plain or seasoned)
  • Pizza Sauce
  • Black Beans (1 can)
  • Sweet White or Yellow Corn Can
  • Craisins (Dried Cranberries)
  • Chopped nuts (Walnuts, Pecans your choice)
  • Two types of Pasta (ie. Angel Hair a string, and Penne, a tubular)
  • Various bagged, instant potatoes
  • Boil in Bag, White Rice
  • Quick Cook Wild Rice
  • Broccoli au Gratin (Rice)
  • All Purpose Flour
  • Cake Flour (I’ve been known to spontaneously bake)
  • Confectioners Sugar
  • Light Brown Sugar
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Triscuits
  • Wheat Thins
  • Graham Crackers
  • Almonds (for snacking)
  • Nature Valley granola bars
  • Sugar-free, fat-free White Chocolate instant pudding (1 box)

Spice Cabinet: Now don’t freak out it’s a lot and some things can be pricey. I bought these over time and you will too.

  • All-purpose Salt
  • Sea Salt (yes there is a difference)
  • Seasoned Salt
  • Black Pepper (I should use peppercorns but I just don’t for some reason)
  • Red Pepper (Cayenne)
  • “Hot Shot” (combo of Black and Red pepper)
  • Garlic Powder
  • Onion Powder
  • Chili Powder
  • Cumin
  • Dried Basil
  • Dried Thyme
  • Dried Dill
  • Celery Seed
  • Dried Parsley (usually buy this in the big size)
  • Old Bay
  • Ground Cinnamon
  • Ground Gloves
  • Nutmeg
  • All Spice
  • Ginger
  • Cream of Tarter (for baking)
  • Baking Soda
  • Baking Powder
  • Crisco (use this rarely but it is helpful)
  • Honey
  • Crushed Red Pepper
  • Mrs. Dash – whatever flavor
  • Montreal Chicken seasoning
  • Montreal Beef/Meat seasoning
  • Cavendar’s All-Purpose Greek Seasoning
  • Taco seasoning packet
  • Ranch dressing packet (I like the dill flavor)
  • Chili seasoning packet
  • Potato Topping
