Italian Layer Bake

Italian Layer Bake

Yummm….nothing like a good Italian sub. This recipe is hearty and perfect for football season!

Ingredients:

  • 1 can crescent rolls
  • 1/2 lb. deli turkey
  • 1/2 lb deli ham
  • 1/2 lb deli hard salami
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 (12-ounce) jar roasted peppers, drained
  • 4 eggs, beaten

Recipe:

Preheat oven to 350

Separate the crescent rolls into two squares (four triangles each). Place dough in an 8 x 8″ dish, pressing to close the seams and equally fit the dish.

Layer with half of the meats, about four pieces of turkey and ham, six pieces of salami and four pieces of Swiss cheese. (If you’re like me, you’ll forget the peppers at this step and be slightly disappointed at the end.) Add a later of roasted peppers.

Pour half the beat egg over the top and layer with the remaining meat, cheese and peppers.

Place the remaining square of crescent dough on top, pinching the seams together. Pour the remaining egg over the top and lightly cover with foil.

Bake for 20 minutes covered. Remove foil and bake for another 20 minutes, until golden brown.

Let the dish cool for 15 minutes before cutting and serving.

Enjoy!
