Side Dish: ‘Fried’ Green Beans

 One of the great debates at dinner time is – what side dish?? The next few posts I’ll cover some easy-to-do, any time side dishes. First off we’re starting with fried green beans. They aren’t reallyyyy fried but the way the lemon coats interacts during the cooking, creates a nice unique flavor. 

You’ll need:

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cups fresh green beans, trimmed and cut to preferred length
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 pinch garlic salt
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Heat the olive oil and butter in a pan over medium heat. Add green beans, lemon juice and garlic salt. Cook until the beans are tender but still a bit crunchy, approximately 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Salt & pepper to taste.

Seriously, could that be any easier? Try it tonight, I’m certain you’ll enjoy the flavors. If you’re looking for a complete dinner, pair this side dish with Walnut Crusted Chicken or Honey-Soy Flounder!
