Sweet-Italian Sausage Gnocchi

Holy tasty, Batman.

Every time we eat this meal we remember just how yummy it really is. It’s a quick and easy dinner with such wonderful flavors, and it’s gnocchi – which is probably my favorite pasta. If you’ve never tried gnocchi, you should. It’s delightful and dense, pretty much the perfect comfort food. So here you go!

Ingredients for two people:

  • Package of gnocchi
  • 1/2 jar pasta sauce
  • 1/2 lb Sweet Italian sausage
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Optional: Red pepper flakes

See I told you it was easy. There are as many ingredients to go on at the end as there are to make the dish.

Start by browning your sausage over med-high heat.  Cook until the meat is no longer pink. If you can drain any excess grease from the pan and sausage. If not, add the 1/2 jar of pasta sauce and reduce the heat to low.

In a medium pot, get your water boiling. Add about 1 Tbsp of salt to the boiling water then add the gnocchi. Gnocchi only takes about 2-3 to cook and it will float when its ready. Drain in a colander and put back into the pot. Add the sausage sauce to the gnocchi and stir to coat.

Dish into bowls or onto plates. Top with a sprinkle of mozzarella, parmesan and crushed red pepper flakes if you like!
